42 year old Manny Pacquiao announced that he will be fighting undefeated Errol Spence Jr on 21st August 2021 in what should be a massive fight for boxing fans. unlike Floyd Mayweather who has been fighting exhibitions over the last few years, Pacquiao refused to draw into circus acts and actually fighting one of the best welterweights in boxing today. Errol Spence Jr has been undefeated with a 27-0 record.

This will be a PPV event which will be broadcasted by Fox in the USA. Pacquiao is guaranteed to take home as much as $15 million from this fight which could reach $20 to $25 million depending on PPV buys numbers. Errol Spence Jr on the other hand is fast becoming a PPV star himself. His recent bout against Danny Garcia was a PPV event priced at massive $75 and it still drew over 250,000 PPV buys in the US generating $18.75 million in PPV revenue. He cleared $8 million from that fight which was his career best earnings from a single fight.
We can only assume Pacquiao vs Spence JR will generate alot more interest. Fox are predicting around 700,000 PPV buys and if priced at $75 it could rack in a massive $50 million from just PPV revenue from the US. This fight will also generate alot more interest internationally and that will add up to the final broadcasting revenue from the fight. By the time this fight take place, we might see full capacity crowd at MGM grand in Las Vegas. You can add another $10 million from the ticket sales.
So how much both Pacquiao and Errol Spence JR are expected to earn from this massive fight ?
Although Pacquiao is at the wrong end of his career, he still a bigger draw that Spence Jr and also made a stand alone tier based PPV deal with Fox. His earnings will depend on how well the PPV do both domestically and how international broadcasters pay for the rights. Pacquiao’s last fight was against Keith Thurman back in 2019 and it drew just over 500,000 ppv buys resulting in $37.5 million in US PPV revenue. Pacquiao was guaranteed $10 million from that fight plus ppv share which would have been around $5 million.
