The international cricket council (ICC) has substantially increased in ICC T20 World Cup 2022 prize money. ICC announced a 20% increase for the upcoming T20 World Cup. T20 World Cup 2022 is set to take place in Australia this year from November-December.

Winners of the T20 World Cup this year will pocket as much as $3.5 million. The men’s T20 World Cup 2022 will feature 45 matches. Matches will be played among 16 teams. Take a look at the T20 World Cup Prize Money 2022 and how the winning share fund will be distributed among participating nations.

Men’s ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Prize Money

ICC has announced that every qualified team is guaranteed a $100,000 payment as the preparation cost.

The team that manages to win this tournament and lifts the trophy will get $3.5 million. Runner up team will get the good prize of $1.5 million which they carry to their home.

Teams who reach in semifinals after clearing the qualifying match will get the prize of $750k each team who is part of this tournament will get $300k each.

A total of $5.6 million fund makes T20 World Cup 2022 the second highest paying international tournament in world cricket. Only behind 50 over the world cup.

The winning team in the tournament will receive $3.5 million. The runners-up team will end up taking $1.5 million home. The two teams who will be knocked out in the semi-finals stage will receive $750k each. Each participating nation will get $300k each.

The winning team money will go to the cricket development players who won’t receive any prize money share. They only get the man of a match award and a cash bonus from the sponsor of the tournament.
