The South Africa national cricket team or Proteas falls under the administration of Cricket South Africa and is a full-time member of ICC. Its nickname, Proteas, comes from the national flower of South Africa known as King Proteas. During its initial days, the team was weak and couldn’t stand in the field in front of teams like England and Australia, but as time progressed the team kept getting better and better, and in the 20th century South Africa cricket team became one of the best cricket teams in the world.

Before joining Cricket South Africa, Shukri used to play first-class cricket for the Western province. After his retirement, he coached Cape Cobras, Highveld Lions, and Gauteng. From 2010 to 2011 he was briefly appointed to coach the Ugandan national cricket team.
Rob Walter
Rob was appointed as the ODI and T20I coach of the South Africa national team in January 2023. Previously he had been the head coach of Titans in South African domestic cricket. He was also the coach of Otago and Central Districts in New Zealand.
