Sri Lanka Cricket Board finally announced the players for 5 months central contract after the players’ protest. Sri Lanka is now rewarding 18 players in the new central contract for 2021.
Categories are based on many standards like fitness, leadership, seniority, professionalism, Code of Conduct, and adaptability.
The new system centers more around performance-related rewards. As per the new arrangement, 33% of all total board income will be divided into players’ pay rates.
Some big performance bonuses are here:
Individual player will get double match fee if wins the Test Match.
$5000 will be a reward in case of scoring century or taking 10 wickets in a Test Match.
Players who take 5 wickets or score a century in ODIs will receive $5000 bonus.
Half-century or 5 wicket-haul in T20i will convert into $2500 performance reward.
SLC Contracted Players
Sri Lanka stated, “Players signed the contracts without any changes from the contracts offered previously.” Some players are not present in the list, who were formerly included, due to some reasons.
Kusal Mendis, Danushka Gunathilaka, and Niroshan Dickwella are suffering from a ban, so they can’t get the agreement.
Angelo Mathews cannot get the contract because of his unavailability. He was also a player whom SLC offered a contract.
Isuru Udana retired from international cricket so he is also not available.
SLC declared officially that the standards and criteria for points allocation are shared among the players individually.

Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC) comes up with an immense change in the new Sri Lanka Cricket Central Contracts 2021.
Although SLC has increased the allowances based on the previous good performances, COVID-19 struck them miserably. So, there are enormous cuts in the players’ salaries that are around 35% for the season 2021.
