Copa America 2020 was postponed like many other top sporting events due to global covid-19 pandemic however authorities rescheduled the tournament for summer 2021 as they are hoping by that time restrictions will be lifted and fans can attend the matches which will be played in Argentina and Colombia as joint hosts. This is the first time in tournaments history that more than one nations is hosting the tournament. However due to pandemic and rescheduling the tournament the prize money fund might be reduced.
25% Reduction in Copa America 2021 Prize Money Fund ?
A total of $22 million was promised in prize money fund of which $6.5 million was suppose to go to the winners while runners-up pocket $3.5 million. However organizers have announced that their will be 25% reduction in the prize money fund which will be announced by March 2021.
Below is the tentative speculative prize money fund for 2021 Copa America joing hosted by Argentina and Colombia. It is not official announced yet but there are reports of 25% reduction in prize money fund which was originally announced by CONMEBOL.
