Spain won three back to back major international tournaments winning UEFA Euro in 2008 and 2012 and also went on to win 2010 world cup in South Africa. Since than however they have been below par and head into the UEFA Euro 2020 as one of the dark horses. New national team coach Luis Enrique has them playing good football and integrated some young players into the team giving Spain a very balanced squad.
We take a look at possible 23-man squad for Spain in Euro 2020 which will be announced by 11th May 2021 according to UEFA guidelines. Once the squad is confirmed we will update this page with confirmed list of 23 players in Spanish roster.

National Team Coach: Luis Enrique
Enrique returned to coach Spanish national team in 2019 after his first stint was cut short due to personal reasons in 2018. However since he took charge after his assistant Roberto Moreno guided Spain to Euro 2020 qualifying, Enrique has guided Spain to historic 6-0 won over Germany and made 100% record in World Cup qualifying.
Enrique is not considered much of a tactical coach but he has always focused more on players fitness and intensity. He has the players the way he wants to play and if it clicks there is no better team than Spain when they are on song.
Possible Starting Lineup:
Luis Enrique likes his team to have more possession and play in simular style to his treble winning Barcelona with 4-3-3 system. Players like Ferran Torres and Mikel Oyarzabal has been very impressive in this system while Rodri, Koke and Marco Llorente help control the midfield.
Enrique will be hoping Sergio Ramos is match fit by the time Euro 2020 gets underway and Paul Torres is likely to partner him in central defense role. While Jose Gaya and Dani Carvajal might play as full backs. The biggest decision will be whether to start with David De Gear or continue with Athletic Bilbao keeper Unai Simón who has been regular for Spain over the last 12 months.
Players To Watch Out For: Like we mentioned before, Spain have alot more diverse set of players from different clubs in the squad compared to previous major tournaments where Barcelona and Real Madrid players dominted the squads. Ferran Torres, Mikel Oyarzabal, Dani Almo, Rordi and Paul Torres are to name a few.
If we had to pick one player from Spanish team is Atletico Madrid’s Marco Llorente who is such a versatile player both going forward and providing balance in midfield.
