1). Accused of Racism

During the press conferences of his multi-million dollar fight against Floy Mayweather, he exchanged pretty harsh comments that fall under the category of Racism. Many of these comments were considered racially abused particularly the instance where he told Floyd to “dance for me, boy!”

2). Punched an Old Man at the bar

After losing to Khubaib inside Octagon, McGregor was cornered from the limelight for a while. However, The Notorious king of MMA found pat himself back under the lights. In late 2018, TMZ released a video that was filmed inside The Marble Arch Pub in Dublin.

The footage showcased Conor McGregor hitting an old man. The incident happened in April, but the footage wasn’t discovered until the summer. An investigation was then launched and McGregor was charged with assault.

3). Claimed to be half-black

In the light of racism accusations, Conor went on to deny the charges to protect his fan club. However, he denies the charges in a very bizarre way.

During a press conference in anticipation of the Mayweather fight at the Barclays Center, McGregor said He could not possibly be racist because he’s half-black from the belly button down.” 

4). Attack Referee in Bellator

McGregor was attending a Bellator event to support Charlie Ward. At the 4 minutes 59 seconds of round 1, Ward’s opponent, John Redmond was hurt. However, the referee Marc Goddard had not stopped the fight in favor of Charlie Ward. While he was trying to separate the fighters, McGregor jumped over the octagon and started celebrating with Ward.

When the referee tried to stop McGregor and continue the fight, McGregor shoved the referee and also knocked down already hurt John Redmond.

McGregor left the ring, but he decided to come back again and climbed on top of the cage. An official tried to stop him but Mcgregor slapped the official.

Later McGregor apologized for his actions saying:

“I sincerely apologize for my behavior at last weekend’s fight event in Dublin. While trying to support a loyal teammate and friend, I let my emotions get the best of me and acted out of line,”.

5). Run-In with a Fan

In March 2019, Conor McGregor came under assault highlight once again. In Miami, Conor McGregor arrived at the Fontainebleau Hotel. Upon arrival, a fan among others snapped pics of Conor. Enraged, McGregor grabbed the fan’s phone and threw it on the ground. Footage of the incident was released to the public.

After that, McGregor was arrested and charged with strong-arm robbery and criminal mischief. Also, a civil lawsuit emerged but was later dropped along with McGregor’s charges.

6). Avoided prison time

In promoting his UFC 223 fight vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov (which got postponed to UFC 229), things heated and went personal between him and khubaib. As a result, Conor attacked the bus with Khabib, UFC staff, managers, and fighters on board. Conor threw a dolly at the bus, injuring multiple people.

In his arrest, McGregor faced 12 criminal charges, including two counts of felony criminal mischief, and even pleaded guilty. Yet, he faced no prison time and this incident will not reflect on his record.

7). Accused of using vague “substance” vs Nate Diaz

Conor McGregor never failed a drug test. He has prided himself on the fact that he supposedly does not do drugs. However, Richard Perez says otherwise. Richard Perez, coach of Nate Diaz went on BJ Penn Radio. He made accusations that McGregor uses vague “substance” before his match vs. Diaz at UFC 202. The coach failed to clearly elaborate on where he got this info from

8). Made Homophobic Slurs Despite Being Pro Rights

For many years he is seen as an advocate and a supporter of the LGBTQ community. However, in several scenarios, he is been seeing publically humiliating his opponents with gay slurs. One of the incidents happened in Poland in 2017, when Corner abused Andre Fili with Gay slurs and use the “F word”.

Later on, McGregor went on to apologize publicly for his comments on RTE One’s Late Late Show that he “meant no disrespect.”

9). Investigated by Irish police over alleged assault

Over his career, he’s been accused of alleged assaults. However, this is more sexual connotation as it involves a woman. She makes accusations against McGregor date back to an alleged incident that took place in December 2018. The Irish police are currently investigating the situation and McGregor publicly states that he’d never do such a thing.

10). Exploited the bus attack on Khabib

Despite the fact, that it looked like a staged event, it wasn’t. The bus attack really happened and real people really got hurt. Despite facing charges, McGregor and the UFC opted to exploit these real injuries in the aftermath as a major selling point for the bout.

Later the footage was used in promo material and hype packages. Some call it insensitive to the victims involved.
