In 2019, Antonio Giovinazzi signed a Multi-year deal to join Alpha Romeo-Ferrari till the 2021 season. He signed the deal ahead of the 2019 season. He was hired to replace Marcus Ericsson.

Giovinazzi and Raikkonen were retained by Alfa Romeo for the 2021 season. He signed a 1-year extension for the 2021 season. His contract deal with Alpha Romeo is Worth $2 million per year.

He signed 1-year extension deal with the team, however, with his poor finish he left the Alpha Romeo.

Antonio Short F1 Career History

Antonio Giovinazzi made his First Formula One Entry at the 2017 Australian Grand Prix. Giovinazzi was chosen by Scuderia Ferrari to be their third and reserve driver for the 2017 season. At the debut, he replaced the injured Pascal Wehrlein.

He also replaced Wehrlein at the following Chinese Grand Prix as Wehrlein continued his recovery. Giovinazzi raced in F1 for Alfa Romeo Racing from 2019 to 2021. So far in his F1 career, He didn’t win any Grand Prix race.

Giovinazzi left Alfa Romeo at the end of the 2021 season and became a reserve driver for Ferrari.

Giovinazzi is also due to act as reserve driver for Alfa Romeo and Haas (Ferrari’s customer teams) as part of his contract with Ferrari.

In his F1 career, he didn’t win any championships. He never won a single Grand Prix race. In 2021, his final position was 18th with 3 points.
