UEFA Euro 2021 (Everything You Need To Know)

UEFA Euro 2020 will be taking place this summer from 11th June 2021 to 11th July 2021. Tournament was suppose to take place in the summer of 2020 but UEFA had to postpone the event due to covid-19. However in December 2020, UEFA confirmed that tournament will go ahead even behind closed doors if covid restrictions still apply. We will be covering every aspect of UEFA Euro 2020 (21) from match schedules to venues, how to buy tickets to TV channels, prize money to if national team players make any money for national events. All 24 qualified teams will have their own dedicated pages with team squads and possible lineups.

UEFA Euro 2020 Groups (Confirmed)

The group stage draw took place back in December 2019 and we have our final 24 teams divided into 6 groups of 4 teams each. Top two will qualify for knockouts while 4 best 3rd place teams will join them in round of 16.

UEFA Euro 2020 Match Schedule (Confirmed)

Tournament new dates starts from 11 June 2021 and will be played through 11 July 2021. The group stage will last 12 days from 11th June to 23rd June 2021. UEFA are yet to confirm whether tournament will be hosted in multiple countries and we might see whole tournament schedule move to England.

UEFA Euro 2020 Prize Money (Confirmed)

UEFA has announced 20% increase in total prize money pool for Euro 2020 where €371 million will be distributed among participating federations. The eventual winners might take home around €27 to €30 million depending on their performance in tournament.

UEFA Euro 2020 TV Channels (Confirmed)

UEFA has promised a very extensive TV and online coverage around the world as they sold tv rights in 180 different territories around the world. UEFA also ensured matches will be broadcasted on TV as well as via online streaming and apps.

UEFA Euro 2020 Team Squads

All qualified nations will have to submit their final 23-man squad by 13th May 2021 with at-least three goal keepers to be named in squad. As the tournament starts, teams must name their starting squad at least 75 minutes before kickoff.

Past Winners of UEFA Euro

So far 15 editions of their highly successful european national tournament have taken place and we have had 10 different winners. Only Spain, France and Germany has won the tournament more than once with Germany and Spain winning three times each.

Adidas, Nike and Puma are the three big kit manufacturers of participating teams. They have released most of the kits while some will be revealed in March 2021.

The trophy for UEFA Euro is also known as “Henri Delaunay Cup” and it is kept by UEFA and only replica is awarded to the winning team. Trophy is made of 8kg of sterling silver which cost around $2200.

UEFA Euro 2020 Referee List (Announced)

List of final 18 referees who will be officiating Euro matches is announced by UEFA. These 18 referees will accompany a team of officials (2 assistant referees and 1 VAR referee). The referee will know which match they are officiating only 2 days before the kickoff.
